Fuse close to your battery, with enough interrupting rating to manage a Lithium battery.Â
Ensure any fuse is positioned close to your battery to protect the entire circuit effectively. This way, in the event of a short circuit or malfunction, the fuse will act promptly to break the circuit and safeguard your family and the system.
Lithium batteries have a very high density and ultra-low resistance. So, they need a serious fuse! In the event of dead short with your wiring or an appliance, your battery may pump out extremely high amps, in excess of 300-600amps, that can easily melt cables and start fire. Standard or cheap fuses often lack the ability to “pop” and break the circuit at these critical amp levels. The wrong fuse can melt together rather than breaking.
MRBF fuses are simple tidy and effective with huge interrupt capacity! Check out our, how to size a fuse and battery cables page, for more information…
